Mane'iacs Cosmetics B631682 | Government Grant Application

Mane'iacs Cosmetics | Application Preview

Mane'iacs Cosmetics is applying for government grants to enhance its business operations and marketing efforts. The funding would primarily be used for hiring marketing professionals, improving the website, increasing product inventory, creating samples, and participating in various local markets and expos. The owner has been self-funding the business but finds it challenging to manage expenses amidst rising costs, expressing a strong desire for assistance to realize the potential of the venture.

The business plan outlines ambitious goals for the next five years, aiming to have products available in local beauty supply stores and salons nationwide. Strategies include expanding digital marketing through platforms like podcasts and leveraging influencer partnerships to boost product awareness.

The owner is motivated by a passion for educating individuals, especially women, on maintaining healthy hair and scalp, particularly for texture 3 and 4 hair types. After extensive research, the owner developed products to address common issues like breakage and dryness, filling a gap in the market for effective solutions that cater to these hair textures. While initial success has been promising, the owner seeks further growth to better serve customers.

In terms of competition, Mane'iacs Cosmetics faces established brands like Mielle Hair Products, Shea Moisture, and Aunt Jackies. However, the competitive edge lies in the brand's commitment to all-natural ingredients, personal involvement and dedication to client satisfaction, and a focus on education rather than profit. The owner envisions a legacy brand that empowers individuals through improved hair health and self-esteem.

  • Funding Usage

If I won this grant the money would go towards marketing (individuals that can assist me with this aspect of business), better website designing, inventory, samples, and being able to rent out spaces at flea markets, markets for small business owners, homecomings, and expos. Right now I am using my money and I am penny-pinching. I am trying my best and I have had this company for years, but with inflation and being an adult with bills (which most people understand), I am breaking even and constantly looking for other avenues of help. For whomever is reading this-please understand, this would change my life because this will be my sign that I am working towards something that is great. I am passionate but passion can only get you so far without the money to invest n yourself. Thank you.

  • Business Plan

Within the next 5 years I would like my products to be on shelves in local beauty supply stores. I would also like for my products to be sold to salons that resale products as well. I plan to expand my reach beyond being local as well and become known around the country. I also want to increase my forms of marketing digitally through podcasting, infomercials, and influencers. I would like for the awareness of my product to grow. Speaking from my heart, what motivates me is educating women on how to achieve healthy hair AND scalp-which doesn't always mean long hair-just healthy. I am in the beauty industry and I know that money for stylists come from repetitive clients, but there are women who cannot afford to get their hair styled every week, month, or even yearly. My goal was initially to create a product for only my clients to prevent breakage, dryness, and also keep their scalp healthy and protected from UV rays, harsh environmental chemicals etc. My products are for texture 3 and 4 hair, because although there are products in the stores, they mostly enhance these textures of curls-not penetrate through the hair shaft and moisturize them. My clients were so happy with my products that they convinced to me sell products to other individuals. I spent almost a year researching texture 3/4 hair and what it needs along with what the scalp needs as well before I created my product and found out that people are hugely miseducated and there were so many other oils/butters that were not being utilized in shelf products. My goal was not only to sell a product but to educate women and men on how to take care of their hair outside of the shop. Many people buy things hoping they would work and spend so much on products without even knowing what it is they need. So far I have done ok-but I would like to do more. I have a degree in Business and I have my Cosmetology license and utilizing both of these I feel I was able to create this business. However, I need assistance, and even if there s someone who may need this grant more than me-I still thank you for your consideration and time.

  • Self Identified Competition

Mielle Hair Products Shea Moisture and Aunt Jackies My product has not been bought out by big companies and watered down making them more money, diminishing the results, and luring away the customers. This is based on my years in the field as well as client reviews. My company uses all natural products and preservatives and will be handed down for generations to come. These products were not made solely for profit they were made from my heart because so many women self esteems are based in part on how they look and hair is a part of that appearance. My goal is to help them achieve healthy tresses and educate them on maintaining their hair as well.
