Retired Truffler LLC 84-3452653 | Government Grant Application

Retired Truffler LLC | Application Preview

Retired Truffler LLC is applying for government grants to support the recovery of their restaurant and campground business. The funding will cover rent and utilities until they can resume full operations.

Their business plan includes developing a campground with six RV spots and tent camping, while also expanding their menu to include suppers. Future plans involve building a mini golf course and hosting community events, aiming to create a vibrant local venue.

The owners bring over 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry. They purchased the restaurant in January 2020, just before the pandemic shutdowns began. Despite challenges, they have maintained their 2019 sales levels during difficult times and project a 20% increase in business in 2021 if restrictions ease.

The restaurant is a vital part of their community, and losing it would also jeopardize their home, which is located on the same property. They are dedicated to providing quality food and service for their neighbors, emphasizing their commitment to the community and their desire to create a legacy for their children.

In a small town of only 32 residents, they face minimal competition, with the closest restaurants located 20 minutes away. Their personal touch and commitment to quality food give them a competitive edge, as they prioritize their neighborhood's satisfaction.

  • Business Plan

We were already in the process this year of building the campground which will include 6 full hook up RV spots, and tent camping. Before this recent shutdown we were expanding our menu to suppers. The next few years we were going to build a small mini golf course and hold other events for small town MN. We purchased the restaurant from previous owners who had it for 20 years. We are currently meeting their 2019 sales, all during the pandemic. We should be able to see a 20% increase in business in 2021, if restrictions are lifted partially or fully. My husband and I have been in the restaurant industry for a combined 30 plus years. We decided December of 2019 that we were going to jump in and buy a restaurant. We took over this restaurant in January of 2020, and by March of this year we were shut down due to the pandemic. We have persevered, we have shown our neighborhood what we have to offer. They don't want us to leave any more than we do. The restaurant we purchased was on the same property as our house, so if our business closes we may have to sell our home. All during the pandemic we also had our second child who is now three months old. All we want to do is succeed and have a place to raise our children, teach them how to run the business and have something to pass down to them when they are old enough.

  • Self Identified Competition

We are in a city of 32 people. There is a bar across the street. The next closest spot to us is 20 minutes away. They are on the highway, so they get a lot of traffic. There is a third restaurant also 20 minutes away in a different direction. We were meant to run restaurants. This is our home and we treat the people as such. We also treat the food the same way. We never want to give our neighbors a bad meal.
