Rebecca Cheaves Law Office PLLC 47-2161741 | Government Grant Application

Rebecca Cheaves Law Office PLLC | Application Preview

Rebecca Cheaves Law Office PLLC is seeking government grants to enhance her immigration law practice, primarily by relocating to a more accessible office for clients and supporting business expenses due to a recent revenue decline. As a solo practitioner, Rebecca manages all aspects of her office, and the funding would allow her to maintain better client organization and cover bills.

In her business plan, she hopes to potentially hire a full-time paralegal and expand her case portfolio beyond immigration, contingent on improved income. Rebecca emphasizes her strong ethical background, her personal connection to immigration through her grandmother’s journey, and her commitment to providing a supportive future for her son.

She acknowledges the competition from larger immigration firms that often provide impersonal service, contrasting her individualized approach where she personally attends to each case and builds strong client relationships. Her competitive edge lies in her dedicated, reputation-based service, with a high referral rate and direct client communication. Rebecca is determined to use the grant funds solely for business needs, aiming to continue delivering personalized legal assistance effectively.

  • Funding Usage

I want to put the money into my business and get an office more centrally located where my clients can meet me easier. I also need to maintain client organization, keep up with bills, it’s been very difficult this year with this decline in income. I run a small immigration office and I am a solo practitioner who does all the work. I want to put that grant towards paying for the business expenses.

  • Business Plan

I would maybe like to expand by hiring a paralegal full time and upgrading to a different office to meet client in. This of course will depend on how much revenue I earn once all expenses and taxes are paid. I would maybe like to also do more different types of cases because as of right now I mainly do immigration. I come from a good background with morals. I have an athlete swimming background and competitive mentality. My grandma was an immigrant from Peru and had to go through the process when she arrived in the USA. She taught me to work hard and always do my best. I am a smart bilingual attorney who has worked very hard for everything I have. I am Blessed to have wonderful parents who support and love my ambitions and goals. I am a recently divorced mother of 1, son is 8 years old. I want to provide a future for my son just like my grandma and mother Did for me. The money that I am given will only be used to pay business expenses Due to the decline in revenue this year it has been extremely difficult. Thank you for your time. Rebecca

  • Self Identified Competition

Big name immigration firms...Alcock, María Jones, etc. people pay extraordinary amounts of money to these firms and some don’t even know who their lawyer is. I am a personal attorney who works directly with her clients. I give personal attention to every case. I work hard on my own to get my clients legal status and keep families together. My communication skills with my clients are the best. I am a reputation based law office where 99% of my clients are referred. I meet with my clients personally and don’t employ anyone to assist me. This is a unique aspect of my office. My clients can also always call me direct and actually speak to me.
