MindBlox Foundation 13479454-0140 | Government Grant Application

MindBlox Foundation | Application Preview

MindBlox Foundation is seeking government grants to enhance its educational programs focused on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) for youth. The funding will be allocated to several areas including purchasing LEGO kits and tablets for courses, supporting the establishment of a physical Discovery Center for programs, and providing access to underprivileged youth and families in low-income areas.

Over the next three years, MindBlox aims to refine existing programs, expand summer camps and STEAM offerings, build its core team, and strengthen community engagement through the Discovery Center. The organization has successfully partnered with local schools and non-profit groups and intends to broaden these collaborations to make a meaningful impact on youth in the area.

MindBlox identifies a booming demand for STEAM education, which has been growing steadily while availability has not kept pace. The foundation emphasizes its mission to equip youth with essential skills for their potential and underscores the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Key competitors in the STEAM education market include Bricks4Kids, TEKintellect, and Snapology. However, MindBlox differentiates itself through several competitive advantages: a stronger emphasis on aligning with educational standards, inclusive programming tailored to diverse student needs, highly qualified instructors with advanced degrees, and its status as a non-profit that ensures access for all youth, irrespective of their background.

By investing in MindBlox, funders would be contributing to the development of future leaders and innovators within the community.

The funding would be used to: A) cover the cost of the LEGO kits, tablets, and take-home materials for our foundational courses; B) help to offset the cost of a brick-and-mortar Discovery Center for our programs; and C) allow us to offer our programs to underprivileged youth and families in low-income regions.

  • Business Plan

The next three years will be focused on refining our programs, adding additional summer camps and STEAM programs to allow more students within the region to participate, building out our core team, and establishing a strong community presence through our Discovery Center. We have found success through partnership with local schools, community organizations, and non-profit groups, and will continue to work with more of these organizations to positively impact the lives of the youth in the region. Longer-term, we plan to start franchising MindBlox, leveraging our STEAM programs to connect with and teach the youth in multiple regions throughout the United States. The demand for STEAM programs for youth has been growing at double-digit rates for the past decade, but the number of programs offered has not been been able to keep pace. We have a rapidly-growing market, and a unique value proposition through the high quality of our instructors and programs. But much more importantly, we believe in the “product” that we are providing. Our mission at MindBlox is to provide the skills and knowledge that will help youth connect to their potential. Our company was founded on the confidence that we can make a difference in the lives of our youth, and we strongly believe in giving ALL kids an opportunity to become the best versions of themselves. So why should you invest in us? Because we are investing in the next generation of leaders, teachers, engineers, and scientists.

  • Self Identified Competition

Our primary competitors are Bricks4Kids, TEKintellect, and Snapology. All three teach STEAM programs for kids, using LEGO to support their teaching methods. Several factors differentiate MindBlox from our competition. 1) MindBlox’s programs have a heavier focus on STEAM education than those of our competitors. Our courses are designed to supplement and enhance the learning objectives of the school districts, and are designed to align with Common Core and NGSS standards. 2) MindBlox’s programs are inclusive, and are tailored specifically to the age and capabilities of the students – from special needs to gifted and talented. 3) The caliber of our staff. All of our instructors have graduate degrees in science or engineering disciplines, along with several years of teaching experience in academia, corporate, and community settings. 4) MindBlox Foundation is a non-profit organization, giving us the opportunity to offer our programs to all youth, regardless of their educational or economic status.
