House of Quail Culinary Woodworking 275-927232 | Government Grant Application

House of Quail Culinary Woodworking | Application Preview

House of Quail Culinary Woodworking is applying for government grants to enhance its business operations. The funding would facilitate a transition to part-time work, allowing for increased production and the ability to market more effectively to local retail stores and the Bay Area. This grant would support the expansion of the product line and the potential relocation from a garage setup to a dedicated warehouse space.

The business plan outlines a strategic five-year timeline to gradually leave a full-time job and establish strong partnerships with local retailers, wineries, and hotels. In the next 2-5 years, the goal is to secure a warehouse, hire employees, and further develop woodworking workshops aimed at corporate team-building, which will be offered nationally via Zoom. Efforts are underway to improve online visibility and traffic.

The appeal for funding is based on a robust business strategy, including unique workshops where participants craft signature boards, which have garnered national interest. Currently, six workshops are scheduled through the holiday season. Additionally, one of the products has received notable recognition, being selected as part of the Martha Stewart Collection on Etsy and nominated for the 2023 Etsy Design of the Year.

The competitive landscape includes companies like William & Sonoma and Hudson & Grace, but House of Quail's edge lies in promoting immersive woodworking experiences that resonate with today's consumers, who value experiential engagements over mere products.

  • Funding Usage

This money would allow me to go to part time work at my current job and it would allow me to increase my production. This grant would allow me to market to more retail stores locally and in the Bay Area and it would enable me to expand my product line. It would also allow me to focus on expanding the business and possibly move from my garage to a warehouse facility.

  • Business Plan

I plan to methodically leave my current full time job in the next 5 years. During that time I will curate and develop long lasting relationships with local retail businesses, wineries and hotels. My 2-5 year plan is to attain a warehouse and move out of my garage and perhaps hire some employees to help with the increased production. I am currently working with SBHC creating a business plan, working on increasing my SEO traffic and building my experience workshops to be taught nationally via zoom for team building activities for corporations. An investor should invest in House of Quail Culinary Woodworking because I am formulating a rock solid business plan. I have created an experience teaching guests at the workshop how to create one of my signature boards. I have had interest in marketing this experience nationally as a team building exercise. I am currently scheduled to teach 6 of these experiences from now until Christmas. And for the last 2.5 years I have worked a full time job as well as began and grown this business . One of my boards has been selected as a Martha Stewart Collection curated for Etsy as well as a 2023 Etsy Design of the Year award nominee for the same board.
