Higgins Handyman Services | Application Preview
Higgins Handyman Services is applying for government grants to enhance its operations. The funding will be used to acquire essential equipment, including a flatbed trailer, a dump trailer, and a man lift, as well as to bolster cash flow and secure a building for material storage to protect against the elements.
The business plan focuses on increasing profitability to support the owner's family and provide a living wage for Native American employees, aiming for an 8% profit margin that grows by 1% annually. Reliable equipment is seen as a key factor for improving labor efficiency.
The proposal highlights the importance of the business in creating job opportunities for Native Americans, offering a pathway to success and education in valuable skills. The owner, a veteran who has faced challenges with PTSD, emphasizes the desire to give back to the community and help others.
In terms of competition, established companies like Tri Hurst Construction, Mike Lee Construction, and JD Roofing are mentioned. However, Higgins Handyman Services differentiates itself by primarily employing Native Americans and ex-convicts, providing them with a second chance in life. This unique approach presents a strong case for funding approval.
