Engrave Situations E052063 | Government Grant Application

Engrave Situations | Application Preview

Engrave Situations is seeking government grants to enhance its business operations. The funding will primarily be used to pay off business credit card debt, invest in a newer truck and enclosed trailer to facilitate transportation for shows, and upgrade or acquire additional engraving machines.

The long-term goal is to establish a brick-and-mortar storefront with employees while continuing participation in vendor shows, which have contributed to the business's growth. There are plans for increased advertising and expanding into wholesale and bulk orders for engraved products aimed at both corporate and personal clients.

Engrave Situations positions itself in a competitive environment where laser engraving is prevalent. The business differentiates itself through competitive pricing, personalized service, and rapid turnaround times, often completing one-off pieces within an hour. Unlike larger competitors like Amazon and a nearby engraving shop, Engrave Situations emphasizes local service, including pick-up and drop-off options for customers.

The business prides itself on its community commitment and the desire to provide affordable, personalized engraving options. Drawing from experience working at a former retail chain, the owner aims to foster local small businesses, create job opportunities, and impart skills to employees. Ultimately, Engrave Situations seeks to create memorable products that capture special moments for its customers.

  • Funding Usage

with the money I would pay down completely my business credit card. Invest in a newer truck and enclosed trailer to make shows much easier. I would like to upgrade my current machine and possibly look into acquiring a new machine.

  • Business Plan

ultimately I want to have a brick and mortar store front with employees as well as continuing to do the vendor shows that has gotten me to the point I am now. Id also like to do more advertising and try to get into wholesale/bulk ordering for engraved products be it for corperate or personal levels. This market space is a large one, most people are using lasers to engrave this will eventually wear off. What I do is physically remove material from many types of surfaces.

  • Self Identified Competition

There is a place near me called Appleton trophy and engraving. What sets me apart from them is my cost. I have a set price that I charge and I will work very hard to personalize it for whatever the customer wants. my turn around time is less a hour for most one off pieces. I will take any job regardless of size, as long as I am capable to do the job. Amazon, they are a competitor but we have gotten business from them because of shipping times, if the customer is local they can bring the item to us to have done or we will pick it up and drop it off if that works better for the customer. I operate this business from the heart and for people that want something personalized but cant always afford amazon or a big box store item. We have a large presence in our community in the shows that we currently do. I worked for Things Remembered which was a box store but has since gone to the online market, I want to stay in the community and help grow the local small businesses here, offer jobs to people that need them and give them a skill that they could take as far as they want. A gravograph is a computer numerically controlled machine working with me will give them a taste of what machining is and can do. Most of all I want to make memories with people and for people, so that they can forever capture a special moment in time.
