Waxing Classy | Application Preview
Waxing Classy is seeking a $10,000 government grant to support various aspects of the business, including rent, advertising, product stocking, customer appreciation initiatives, continuing education, and inventory for waxing supplies.
The business plan outlines a five-year growth strategy involving increased advertising, community engagement, and ongoing education to ensure high-quality services for clients. The owner emphasizes their commitment to professional development in esthetics, which enhances the client experience.
The application highlights the owner's dedication to building the business from the ground up and the aspiration to hire another esthetician to create a supportive team environment. By fostering a culture of appreciation and understanding, the owner aims to provide a contrast to the pressures faced by new estheticians in larger chain salons.
In terms of competition, Waxing Classy faces challenges from larger chains like European Wax Center and Waxing the City, as well as a local competitor, Radiant Waxing. However, the business stands out by offering personalized service, where clients receive undivided attention and tailored experiences. This approach helps to build a loyal customer base, as clients appreciate the consistent and intimate nature of the services provided.

Business Plan
Over the next 5 years, I plan on growing my business with advertising, community events and continuing education. Bettering myself with continuing education (ie, esthetics seminars, classes, retreats) offers my clients and future clients assurance that they are receiving the highest quality service and attention possible. I have been in my industry for a while now , but I always take opportunities to educate myself and hone my skills. I have worked very hard to build my business from scratch and I would like to give it the boost to keep it going. As of now it is just me at Waxing Classy, but I would like to hire another esthetician to start building my amazing team. I worked for a small business when I first started out as an esthethcian and I gained a great deal of knowledge and insight from my coworkers which prepared me to be on my own. I want to give that opportunity to others that i had just starting out. Working for big chain salons straight out of school puts pressure on recent graduates. I want to create an environment where esthehticans AND clients alike feel appreciated and heard.

Self Identified Competition
1) European Wax Center - a large chain of waxing and esthetics salons 2) Radiant waxing - a small waxing business just South of me 3) Waxing the City - another chain of waxing salons found all across the country At Waxing Classy each client gets my 100% full attention. I take the time to hear my clients needs and tailor their appointments to their specifications. I don't rush myself and I give myself enough time with each client to give them thr best. The chain salons usually have high employee turnaround which leaves clients confused and under appreciated. Esthetics services can be intimate and choosing an esthetician that knows you well is a good feeling. Switching service providers can make clients feel insecure. My clients won't see anybody else for their beauty needs, they come to see me.
