Give 2 Lead | Application Preview
Give 2 Lead is seeking government grants to finance the next stage of software development and cover marketing, legal, and administrative expenses required to launch a fully functional product by Q1 2024. The anticipated costs include $20,000 for software development and an additional $5,000 to $10,000 for marketing and administrative tasks. The business expects to sustain ongoing development and marketing costs through recurring revenue.
In its initial year, Give 2 Lead aims to penetrate the Sacramento regional market by leveraging networking opportunities, engaging with local Chambers of Commerce, and connecting with entrepreneurial organizations. The plan includes establishing a solid social media presence. By year two, the focus will shift to expanding throughout California, and in year three, nationwide growth is projected. The target market consists of small to medium-sized businesses, particularly those owned by individuals who prioritize local investment.
The company highlights its straightforward product, which employs existing technology in innovative ways to address persistent issues, such as reducing the waste associated with promotional items that offer negligible returns on investment. Give 2 Lead positions itself as a responsible alternative to competitors, emphasizing the goal of minimizing carbon emissions and landfill contributions.
Currently, Give 2 Lead identifies its primary competitor as Givesly, which seeks an entry-level investment of $10,000 from businesses. In contrast, Give 2 Lead plans to offer services at a more accessible monthly fee ranging from $20 to $50, making it an appealing option for small and medium-sized enterprises, which comprise a significant portion of the workforce in rural areas across the nation.

Funding Usage
I will need new money to fund the next round of software development, as well as marketing, legal and admin costs to get a fully functioning product to market in Q1 2024. I anticipate software development will be another $20k and marketing and administrative costs will $5-10k to get started. From there, recurring revenue should cover ongoing development and marketing costs.

Business Plan
I plan to spend the first year (2024) saturating the greater Sacramento Regional market through networking, Chambers of Commerce and the large Entrepreneural Ecosystem (1 million cups, Growth Factory, Carlson Center, etc.) Additionally I will secure assistance with setting up a social media presence. In year 2 I plan to grow across California. In year 3 I plan to grow across the US. The market is small and medium sized businesses in owners who are also active community members who would rather see their money stay local. I have a simple product using proven technology. I'm just applying it in a new way to solve problems that don't appear to be going away soon enough. None of us needs more junk. Making that junk creates carbon emissions. Throwing it away increases our landfills. Wasting our money on promotional items that rarely drive customer acquisition seems like such a waste of money when we know we have so many worthy non-profits out there needing assistance.

Self Identified Competition
Givesly is the only competitor I'm aware of at this time. other competitors for funds are the vendors that sell cheap swag When I contacted Giveesly they were looking for an entry level investment of $10k per company. I would charge customers somewhere between $20 and $50/month. I am affordable for the small and medium sized business which make up at least 75% of most of our employers in small towns across the country.
