QuikSlip | Application Preview
QuikSlip is seeking government grants to support its growth and development. The funding will primarily be used for two purposes: covering AWS Cloud infrastructure costs and compensating developers to enhance the product based on user feedback.
The business plan focuses on several key initiatives: improving the user experience through multiple iterations of the QuikSlip app, gathering insights from customers to identify new feature requests, capturing market share in the commercial area, and expanding its presence in Texas before moving into Atlanta and Nashville.
The application highlights the applicant's expertise in building new engagements and successful SaaS products, including significant achievements with Deloitte and the rapid growth of Emist. This experience is central to the applicant's ability to build QuikSlip from the ground up.
In terms of competition, QuikSlip faces challenges from Parking Permits of America, United Tows, and MyGuestSpot, but emphasizes its advantages. The app not only simplifies towing and parking management but also significantly reduces administrative burdens for property managers. QuikSlip aims to disrupt competitors by addressing weaknesses in their service and leveraging serverless technology to maintain competitive pricing.
Overall, the grant application conveys a strong case for funding based on the team's experience, market opportunity, and a clear plan for leveraging technology to innovate in the parking and towing industry.

Business Plan
1) Work on several more iterations of QuikSlip to address User Experience issues. 2) Interviewing customers for additional feature requests. Focusing on where the biggest headaches are for property managers + towers. 3) Begin to take market share away from players in the commercial space 4) Grow a strong presence in Texas & eventually expand to Atlanta, Georgia + Nashville, TN as the next target markets My Specialty is building net-new engagements, which I've done by building a SaaS Defense product for Deloitte from 0 -> $26 Million. I'm currently the product leader for an 8 figure ARR product, MXDR --> https://www.deloitte.com/global/en/services/risk-advisory/services/mxdr-cybersecurity-solutions.html From my time at Emist, I've seen a black swan scenario unfold; Emist went from near-zero evaluation to worth 1.1 Billion in the span of a year. I learned how to manage + build a business from the ground up, and I decided to take these skills to build QuikSlip. Linkedin for Reference: https://www.linkedin.com/in/the-duke/

Self Identified Competition
1) Parking Permits of America - An example of maliciously designed parking validation. They are a free service, however, they have a finders fee contract with apartment complexes. Reference: https://www.parkingpermitsofamerica.com/ 2) United Tows - Large market share within the Dallas area due to their success in towing. However, poor execution on their app. Reference: https://www.unitedtows.net/Clients/United%20Tows%20LLC/ 3) MyGuestSpot - Direct Competitor business model - we win on the price floor, app simplicity (saves end-users & thus prop managers time). Reference: https://myguestspot.com/ 1) Our app goes beyond the standard parking tracking - it is dead simple for towing companies and handles more of the administrative overhead than other competitors, thus, we are saving hours for Property managers, effectively paying for itself every month. 2) Very easy to hemorrhage market share away from predatory players - Texas is one of the few states where towing companies are allowed to start websites and act as the tower + parking contractor (i.e. https://www.unitedtows.net/Clients/United%20Tows%20LLC/). Since towing companies often execute the parking validation poorly, that is our area to innovate. 3) We use serverless technology - the vast majority of competitors are running compute resources that are always in use & often utilize 3rd party hosting providers which take a cut, and subsequently cause competitors to raise prices. We have the floor of price in the industry.
