Landlock Gallery Landlock Gallery | Government Grant Application

Landlock Gallery | Application Preview

Landlock Gallery is seeking government grants to enhance its operations by purchasing merchandise, updating essential equipment, and supporting overall business functions. Over the next five years, the gallery plans to expand its retail offerings, increase Patreon memberships, and host more events and pop-ups. They also aim to organize community events like art walks and school shows to engage the local audience further.

The application emphasizes the expertise of the founder, who has over six years of experience in the arts and strong connections within the Omaha art community. This background in art, retail, and event coordination positions them well for success.

In terms of competition, Landlock Gallery stands against local businesses like Made In Omaha and The Frame Shop, as well as more traditional galleries like the Joslyn Art Museum. However, Landlock sets itself apart with its unique approach that encourages interaction with the artwork and commitment to community, making it an appealing choice for visitors. The gallery's curated retail selection reflects midwestern aesthetics, enhancing its competitive edge in the local market.

  • Business Plan

In the next five years will be expanding adding more to our retail, grow our Patreon memberships and expand our event and pop-up hosting. We also hope to expand into organizing community events such as art walks, school shows, and gallery openings. I am a hard worker who knows the business. I have worked in the arts for over 6 years and have connections within the art community in Omaha. With my experience in art, retail, and event coordination, I have the optimal skills to make this business successful.

  • Self Identified Competition

One of our competitors is Made In Omaha, which is a business that focuses on local goods. Another would be The Frame Shop which is a gallery that is just down the street from us. Their primary revenue comes from framing services and selling prints. Lastly, a big competitor would be more traditional type galleries such as the Joslyn Art Museum. Landlock stands apart from other spaces because of my art administrative background and our commitment to our artists and vendors. Visitors want to support us because they know their money will stay in the community. Additionally, we steer away from traditional gallery norms ( no touching, keep your distance, etc) to allow visitors to interact more with the artwork. This creates a totally unique experience that other spaces can't replicate. Our retail is also specially curated to represent the midwest and a very warm and cozy aesthetic.
