Grammer Framing Grammer Framing | Government Grant Application

Grammer Framing | Application Preview

Grammer Framing is applying for government grants to enhance its growth and stability during the early years of operation. The funds will be primarily used for purchasing essential tools, equipment, and materials, as well as to support payroll.

The business aims to expand over the next five years by leveraging the extensive experience gained from working with a premium general contractor for 20 years. The plan includes reinvesting profits back into the business and transitioning from a sole proprietorship to an S corporation in the coming year. Future plans also include hiring an accountant for bookkeeping and payroll management, along with legal support when necessary.

Grammer Framing is presented as a strong candidate for funding due to its solid industry experience and established connections, having generated nearly $70,000 in gross income within its first year. The company embraces an equal opportunity employment policy, fostering growth and learning among employees, with an emphasis on encouraging them to pursue their own contracting licenses and ventures.

In terms of competition, Grammer Framing identifies several local construction firms—Thomas Graham Construction, Golden State Carpentry, and Patrick Lemons Construction—as contemporaries rather than strict competitors. The company has collaborated with these firms in the past and continues to see value in working together.

Grammer Framing distinguishes itself by focusing on custom beautification projects for homes and outbuildings, particularly excelling in tasks like custom siding and fine finishing work. Despite being a smaller operation, the founders bring two decades of specialized experience, having often worked for competitors in various capacities. This collaborative mindset and niche focus are positioned as key competitive advantages.

  • Funding Usage

I plan to use any funding awarded to grow my business by purchasing tools ,equipment and materials. I also plan to use any funding awarded to support my payroll during these first years of business.

  • Business Plan

I plan to grow my framing business in the next 5 years by continuing to provide the professional service and craftsmanship that I have learned while working for premium general contractor for the last 20 years. I plan to reinvest all profits back into the business for at least the next 5 years . I plan to convert my sole proprietor business into a s corporation next year. I plan to employ a accountant to do my books and payroll and in the future hire a lawyer when the need arises. Grammer framing is an excellent prospect for business funding because of our many years of experience and are many contacts in this area in the construction industry we already have numerous clients lined up and in our first year of business have completed almost $70,000 in gross income. My company is equal opportunity employer and every employee will be encouraged to grow and learn in the construction business including and up to getting their own contracting license and starting their own businesses. I have been helped and encouraged by my superiors in the construction industry many contractors encouraged me to get my license and without their help I would not be here therefore I feel it is my duty to pass this on to future contractors I will do this with or without your help.

  • Self Identified Competition

Graham construction owner Thomas Graham Bakersfield California Golden State carpentry construction owner Fernando Campos Bakersfield California Patrick lemons construction owner Patrick lemons Bakersfield California While these three contractors are all technically my competitors they are also my contemporaries and associates sometimes I work for them I have in the past and I will continue to do so in the future when that is the only work available. Why have competitors when you can have collaborators? All my competitors listed above are established construction companies with years of experience and profitable business. The difference between them and us is the size of business .we are a small construction business preferring to do beautification on custom homes and outbuildings including custom siding work. All of the competitors listed above have hired us in the past as employees to do the kind of custom work that we do best. My two partners and I have worked for the same contractor for 20 years together on the same crew we have specialized in repairing and fixing problems as well as doing the fine finishing work such as siding ,arches, inspection punch lists , remodels and new construction. When we were not employed full-time by our boss at hernco construction we were learning to do side jobs for anyone that would pay us that includes all of the above listed competitors.
