KoKo Dental Care | Application Preview
KoKo Dental Care is seeking government funding to finalize their construction project, which has seen costs rise from an anticipated 500,000 in 2019 to around 800,000 today, with 450,000 already spent. The funds will also help maintain working capital for future hires.
The business plan focuses on creating an exceptional lifetime patient experience through a balance of internal and external marketing. Internally, KoKo Dental Care aims to cultivate a professional and welcoming environment for patients and staff. Externally, they plan to engage with the community via social media, local events, and partnerships with other businesses to establish a trusted brand.
A key aspect of their strategy is to recruit and train staff who embody the practice's core values, emphasizing ongoing education to ensure the team stays updated on the latest dental technology. KoKo Dental Care recognizes the importance of building lasting patient relationships and referrals, planning to adapt to changing market trends over the next five years.
The request for funding is reinforced by the founders' backgrounds as hardworking immigrants dedicated to supporting their community and family. With 15 years of combined experience in various dental offices, they aim to create jobs and alleviate patients' fears about dental visits.
Competition exists in the form of corporate dental chains like Aspen Dental and local offices like Advanced Waltham Dental. KoKo Dental Care differentiates itself by providing all services through the same team, ensuring continuity of care. The founders speak four languages and plan to hire multilingual staff to address language barriers, further enhancing patient accessibility to care.

Funding Usage
We will use the funding to complete our build while maintaining enough working capital to hire our future employees. The cost of construction and dental supplies has skyrocketed since covid. In 2019 this project would have cost less than 500,000 to complete. Today it looks like it will be close to 800,000 to complete. We have spent 450,000 so far.

Business Plan
As the founder of a new dental start-up, my five-year business strategy is centered around crafting an unparalleled lifetime patient experience. I believe the key to success lies in a balanced approach to both internal and external marketing. Internally, I am committed to creating an environment that mirrors the high standard of care we provide. This means fostering a welcoming, professional, and supportive atmosphere for both patients and staff. Externally, my strategy includes actively engaging with our community. I plan to leverage social media, participate in local events, and forge partnerships with other local businesses. These efforts are aimed at building a strong, recognizable brand that the community trusts. A crucial component of my strategy is the focus on hiring, training, and supporting our staff. I am dedicated to recruiting individuals who are not only technically proficient but also share our core values of honesty, transparency, and a patient-first approach. Regular training programs will be a staple at our practice, ensuring that our team, especially our doctors, remains at the cutting edge of dental technology and practices. I understand that building a reputation takes time and commitment. Therefore, my strategy includes a strong emphasis on word-of-mouth referrals and building long-term patient relationships. I plan to regularly evaluate and adapt our strategies to align with changing market trends and patient needs, ensuring that our practice not only grows but thrives sustainably over the next five years and beyond. We are hardworking immigrants trying to build a business to help support our community and our family. We have a clear vision of the type of work we plan to do. We have fifteen years of experience between the two of us and have worked in many different offices prior to undertaking our own business. We will provide jobs to our community, and peace of mind to our patients who have a fear of the dentist.

Self Identified Competition
There are two types of competitors in our area. One is corporate dentistry for example Aspen Dental or Gentle Dental. The other is local offices that our geographically near our office. Corporate dental offices have been expanding in and around Massachusetts. They have very aggressive growth strategies which can lead to over treatment and non comprehensive patient care. My main competitors geographically are Advanced Waltham Dental and 376 Dental Studio. Both are located on Moody st. We offer all services done by the same team and the same doctors. Instead of having the patients meet multiple teams or go to different offices for treatment, we plan on providing that care for the patient. We also speak four languages between the two of us, and plan on hiring multilingual staff to provide care to patients that may have challenges accessing care due to language barriers.
