Marissa Sparkles LLC 20221061931 | Government Grant Application

Marissa Sparkles LLC | Application Preview

Marissa Sparkles LLC is seeking government grants to help scale the business. Marissa has invested her own funds over the years but hasn't been able to expand as planned due to financial limitations. With a current influx of work, she aims to hire a team to alleviate her workload and invest in advertising to attract more clients.

Her business background spans 6-8 years of supporting startups in areas like sales and operations. Marissa has a clear growth plan, including goals to secure financial stability for herself and her family. She has taken numerous courses and invested in personal development to enhance her skills. The grant funds would enable her to hire help and increase her marketing efforts to achieve her scaling objectives.

Marissa’s motivation stems from her upbringing in Alva, Florida, where she didn't see many entrepreneurial success stories. As the first in her family to graduate from college, she has continuously worked to set an example for her younger siblings and to inspire them to pursue their ambitions. Her vision includes providing comfort and retirement for her grandparents and parents, showcasing that hard work pays off.

In terms of competition, she acknowledges other sales consultants but highlights her unique approach. While her competitors focus on specific niches, Marissa serves business owners who feel stuck and offers a holistic perspective on sales. She emphasizes understanding buyers’ psychology and providing emotional support through the sales process.

What sets her apart is her identity as a woman in a male-dominated industry. Marissa believes there is a need for a more empathetic approach to sales and aims to address the emotional journey of buyers. Her mission includes ensuring that clients not only achieve sales but also feel supported throughout their entire experience. This "feminine touch" aims to break down barriers in the sales consulting field.

  • Funding Usage

I have invested in my business with my own money over the years but I haven't gotten to a place where I can scale in the way that would reflect my scaling plan. This is due to funds. Right now I have an influx of work and I need to hire a team to take some of the work off my plate so I can scale. I also would like to invest in some ad spend to gain more clients.

  • Business Plan

I have worked with starts ups for the past 6-8 years of my career. Helping them build their business from the ground up. Running their sales, operations, and making them successful. I am really good at what I do but over the last year I've realized it's the time to grow my own business in the way I have helped others grow theirs. I already have a dedicated plan of everything I need to do to retire myself, my parents, and my grandparents in the next 5 years. I have invested money into courses, books, and education to continue to improve on my skills. I have had my business running for a while now so now it's just a matter of scaling it to its fullest potential. The grant will help me hire a team and get more ads running so I can scale in the way I've always dreamed. I grew up in a small town called Alva, Florida. My parents have been there since they were born, with my mom living on the same street her entire life. I didn't see many people around me becoming really successful entrepreneurs or doing the "hard" thing when it came to taking a chance on themselves. My brother and sister were born when I was 9 (they are twins) and my world felt like it turned upside down. I do not have children myself but those two quickly became my inspiration for a lot in my life. I have always wanted them to know they can do and achieve anything they put their mind to. To prove that, I had to set the example by doing it myself. I was the first in my family to go to college and receive my Bachelors degree. Being a go getter- I finished my associates and bachelors degree in 2 years by taking 8 classes per quarter. At 22 I left my small town and moved to the big city of Dallas, Texas. I started my career right out of college in sales and began what I like to call, my entrepreneurship journey. I first started a blog, then an online store for jewelry. I continued doing corporate sales for companies but realized around 25 that I wanted to own my own business. So I took the leap and quit my job to become an independent consultant for business owners who needed help with their sales process and teams. I am in my 30's now and I want to set myself and my family up to be comfortable. My grandparents are in their 80's and still working even though my grandma dreams of travel. My dad has been working hard his entire life to give my family the best life he can and he's the best father a daughter could ask for. I'd love to tell him its time to rest and retire him. As for me, yes of course I want the financial freedom everyone dreams of, but I'm more focused right now on working as hard as I can because time is precious and I need my grandma to see more of the world. This isn't really a selfish endeavor...well maybe it is because I selfishly want my family to feel comfort and to no longer need to hustle at their age. I want my brother and sister to see what I've accomplished so my sisters dream if being a famous photographer and my brothers dream of being a successful streamer doesn't feel so far off. I want to inspire, encourage, and support the ones I love the most. So here I am applying for grants, because I understand what a finical bump could do for my business and what that bump could do to change my life and my family's. Thank you for considering me for this grant.

  • Self Identified Competition

There are many sales consultants out there, my competitors are people like Ray J Green, Marcus Chan, Dan Martell. I've had the honor of being mentored and working with some of these successful people. What differentiates us is what will essentially give us the clients we seek. Ray is more about process and the freedom of living with his family in Cabo, he sells the dream for people with families. Marcus is about analytics and numbers, he fits the young entrepreneur who invests in crypto and loves staring at reports all day. Dans clients are in the tech work and have deep understanding of coding. My ideal client that I sell to is the business owner that feels stuck because they don't understand whats broken. They've taken the aggressive sales route and its failed them. I call my company Silver Lining Consulting because I always believe there is a silver lining even in the most difficult times for business owners. I provide a holistic approach to sales with an emphasis on understanding the four buyer types and the psychology of how to sell to each type. My typical client is in the stages of their business where most of the time I'm their last attempt at saving it. Sometimes I feel like I'm not only sales consulting but also providing emotional support- and I wouldn't have it any other way. The first thing that sets me apart from most people in this industry is that I'm a woman. Most sales focused businesses are generally run by men. Most sales books are written by men. Most coaches are men. I think most people in this industry are great and I have learned so much from them, but I do feel there is a lack of softness in the sales space. There are millions of women running their own business and from my perspective I wish there were more women to help them with their sales. There is a very empathetic process in sales that I feel sometimes goes unnoticed in the rigid processes I have seen. Though some are very successful I often see that the consumer, members, or client doesn't feel supported post sale. It's a numbers game in most scenarios when I look at these other leaders in the industry. My business is different because I focus on not only making sure my clients are selling to people who actually need, want, or will benefit from their service or product- but also their entire experience after they buy. I am a full picture thinker and to forget about the second half of the sale is a huge oversight that I see a lot of consultants missing. I am breaking down barriers in the industry by speaking to the psychology of the buyer, leading with empathy, and focusing on their emotions post sale. It's what I call my feminine touch.
