Bad Habitz Productions, LLC | Application Preview
Bad Habitz Productions, LLC is seeking government grants for several essential expenses related to launching a documentary film business focused on veterans. The funding will cover a range of costs including a film camera for $2,500, office furniture under $1,500, and an office building priced at $135,000. Additional expenses will include utilities, insurance, security, and a documentary project estimated at $60,321.
The business plan centers on producing 15 documentaries that highlight various issues faced by veterans. An important aspect of the initiative is to provide free training for veterans interested in film industry jobs, which will help them reintegrate and find work. The company also intends to offer video auditions and coaching for local actors to generate additional income and fully utilize the office space for film-related activities.
The applicant, a disabled female veteran with two decades of military service and 14 years of experience in film, emphasizes the need for representation of veterans' stories in the media. The goal is to bring awareness to the challenges faced by veterans and propose solutions from their unique perspectives.
The grant proposal highlights a competitive advantage stemming from the applicant’s dual experience in the military and film, which positions the business uniquely in the market. There is a stated lack of other initiatives that combine military experience with filmmaking focused on veterans' issues. This endeavor aims not only to tell their stories but also to foster connections with civilians and create mentorship opportunities for younger veterans.

Business Plan
I have 15 documentary subjects already in mind to do on veterans and their issues. I will also train at no cost to the veteran film industry jobs so that they can work in the film industry. I also plan to do video auditions and coaching for local actors to help bring in income. I will be offering my business space for film related activities. I am a disabled female veteran who spent 10 years in the Air Force and 10 years in the Army Reserves. Currently, I have 14 years of film experience in front of and behind the camera. I believe that veterans are overlooked many time and because they been overlooked, they have fallen on bad times. I want to "pay it forward" and bring awareness to their issues they have faced and I want to offer solutions for these issues from their point of view.

Self Identified Competition
To my knowledge, there is no one that has incorporated both their experience in the military and their experience in the film industry to focus on the issues of veterans and to offer them a chance to work at their pace in a field that they can use their military experience. By them being able to work in the film industry they will also be able to connect with civilians and quite possibly mentor a young person in the military. I am a disabled female veteran with 20 years of military experience and 14 years of film experience. While there are a handful of the same, to my knowledge no on is doing documentaries on veterans and the issues they face in civilian life.
