Will Power Malinois 404-19-9370 | Government Grant Application

Will Power Malinois | Application Preview

Will Power Malinois is seeking government grants to support the purchase of the land where their dog breeding business operates and to acquire essential equipment. The applicant wishes to buy the currently rented 40 acres for $200,000 to stabilize their operations and avoid ongoing rental expenses. Additionally, they need funding for four military-grade kennel roofs, each costing around $3,000.

The business plan includes acquiring an AKC registered female for breeding and conducting DNA tests for bloodline verification and health issue prevention. There is also an intention to diversify by breeding a smaller dog with similar intelligence and expanding the training facility, as current space is limited to one acre. The owner aims to shift the business model to focus more on selling products like military kennel roofs, dog food, and toys, alongside training services, rather than relying solely on puppy sales due to the current oversupply of puppies.

The owner emphasizes a commitment to ethical breeding practices, highlighting issues in the industry where some breeders misrepresent bloodlines, which can result in adverse outcomes for the dogs. They advocate for responsible breeding that prioritizes the well-being of the animals involved.

In terms of competition, the applicant notes that they have no direct competitors within their state and have attracted buyers from several states, including New York and Oklahoma. They believe their competitive edge lies in their dedication to animal welfare and the long-term relationships they develop with puppy owners, which reflects a genuine passion for their work and the quality of life for the dogs they breed.

  • Funding Usage

The land I am on I'd love to buy so I don't have to relocate my business. I'm currently renting and it will forever eat my business budget. I also need 4 10'x10' military grade kennel roofs. Each are about $3000. The 40 acres is 200,000

  • Business Plan

I need to get another AKC registered female for breeding, do DNA tests before breeding for checking bloodlines and possible health problems before having pups. We also plan to breed a smaller dog of similar intelligence and expand our training facility with the land to increase income that way. Currently I am only allowed use of about 1 acres. Our biggest plan is to rely more on products (military kennel roofs, dog food, and possibly toys) and training or services than puppy sells as there are so many being bred at the moment. I got into dog breeding for the breed that I love. I am still doing it because many breeders lie to buyers and lie about bloodlines to get more money from the buyer. I don't believe this is a proper business model especially when a living animal is the product that may be hurt or dead due to negligence by bad breeders. The Belgian Malinois lines will be inbred from bad records for more money. I believe a pedigree should be a pedigree. No life deserves to be neglected.

  • Self Identified Competition

I have none in my state. I have had buyers from New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Kentucky, including Indiana. I even had a call from Hawaii but their dog would've still had to be held in quarantine for months. So they did not buy. I care about what I am selling and have pride in my work. I keep up on my puppies and the lives they live if their owner is willing to share. I don't care if I have my name on a dog because so many have been registered. I just live to see a smile from someone receiving the love of a dog.
